Ladder reset coming?
Obs mode today guilds running around with weird builds, no rating loss. So who thinks Anet will actually reset the ladder?

Why else would they freeze it? It's just odd, in the past they always announced when ladder would be frozen and when it would reset. I can find nothing about it.

Well, it smells like it but I guested for a guild and played AT just now, still gained rating from that.
Not sure what they have in their mind.
50/50 really.

AT Gains rating. Normal GvG's not. I presume its ladder freeze and in few next days the skillbalance they said that would be coming out in January and a ladder reset.

A ladder freeze is stupid, dont see the point in freezing the ladder but still gain from ATs. Ladder reset is also stupid, it's just an easy way out of the problem with smurf/pug/inactive high ranked guilds.
Is it just me or does anyone else remember Anet claiming they weren't going to reset the ladder ever again?

The ladder was reset on januari 1st 2007. I would absolutely love it if they reset it again in a few hours .

I think they just need to freeze the database in order to do some work on it. I don't think a reset is coming, but perhaps some other changes.

Perhaps they're gonna implement a method of cleaning the ladder of inactive guilds, without resetting it. Many ideas have been discussed in this forum.

People have been talking of a decay system which would be pretty cool. But right now I'm happy with running around running stupid stuff ^-^

Rating decay over time from inactivity would be an excellent solution imo. Thats my 2 cents on the matter.

I'd love to see a ladder reset combined with a skill update aimed at setting a new tone/pace for 2008 gvg.

I might begin to play again depending on how this goes...if Anet can do something impressive with skill balance and the ladder to start off the year, then they're starting off the year on the right foot.

Rating decay or reset, doesn't really matter to me. Either gets rid of the dead/inactive guilds on the ladder; one is a slow more long term solution the other is a short term fix.

Meh if there was a ladder reset that wouldnt matter to the good players right? after they're so 'L33t' it would just give some new guys a chance.
/SIGNED for a reset my HB rank is poor now.

I have to say.. again.. ladder reset is nothing.. it´s just short term solution of problem we have here.. or do you thing this situation will never happend again? of course yes.. without system change of ladder itself..
We dont need ladder reset.. we need system that prevent inactive guilds be still on top of the ladder after 5 months of inactivity.. (alliance factions system FTW ! in that case)

The ladder will be resuming its normal functionality soon. We found the issue that was preventing rating changes, I just don't know when exactly they will flip the switch to turn rating back on. I will let you know as soon as I do.
In the mean time, I would suggest you guys stop messing around in rated matches until I hear a precise ETA. Even though it's a lot of fun to watch in Obs mode it would be a shame for it to turn back on when you are running Wammoway.
And at this time, I have heard no plans to reset or adjust the ladder.
